I cannot upload an attachment to an email in firefox 3.6, firefox crashes immediately

Mac OS 10.4.1 I was originally using Firefox 3.0 with no problems. I wanted to try the Adblocker, so I updated to 3.6 as directed. Loaded Adblocker. Firefox then requested I upgrade Adobe Flash, which I did. Both browsers immediately shut down if I try to attach a file to an email. I have tried reinstalling 3.0, reinstalling 3.6, reinstalling Adobe Flash... I removed Adblocker (I think)... There is no crash signature, Firefox closes completely leaving a clean screen.

IT had nothing to do with Firefox. The problem is all Yahoo: BrowserPlus is a Yahoo addition to facilitate attachment placement in Yahoo Mail. As you've discovered, it is not compatible with Safari 5/64 bit. If you want to return to 64 bit, then uninstall BrowserPlus via System Preferences in the Apple Menu. After you click on BrowserPlus, at the far right you'll find the uninstall option. Found this at :http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11644348

As soon as I disabled Browser Plus, attachments worked immediately...

When I attempt to attach a file to an email in Firefox or Safari, the rainbow wheel appears then the app crashes. It happens in gmail and hotmail but not on a PC at the local library. I am running OSX 10.4.11 on a powerbook and access the internet via a wireless modem. I have been able to attach files before. Any help welcome.
