Trouble loading Sky.Fm streaming music since latest update of Firefox.
In an email from Sky.Fm in New York I was told there was a problem with streaming Sky.Fm with the latest update of Firefox. I was asked if I had the latest update. Yes, and trouble began after it went in. In a later email I was told that Firefox had fixed the problem. Well, not quite because I now have trouble connecting. I keep getting the word "stopped" in the "now playing" box.. This goes on for some time. I have been streaming music from Sky.Fm for several years without any particular problem. Is there any chance we can get this problem FIXED! I can use tunein.com but I prefer Sky.FM. KIND REGARDS, IAN ROLPH iarolph@bigpond.com

The Flash player on Sky.FM works for me. Try to remove Firefox and Flash caches.
Thanks Oxylatium. I appreciate your help. I think this problem is with Sky.Fm and not Firefox. A few weeks ago they admitted that "some listeners" were having problems with Sky's web player and they were working to fix the defect. I got an email with an apology regarding that. I am in Sydney Aust and have been getting problems with Sky on ADSL with laptop and desk top, and also on Big Pond wireless with both laptop and desk top. I will contact Sky Fm again. Cheers! Ian.
Problems continue with streaming music on Sky.FM since downloading the latest Firefox. The web player will not start until you continually click the play arrow. And then you get no information in the "now playing" panel although the disc time is shown and counts down as normal! On Internet Explorer all works normally. The web player appears and the music starts immediately as it has done for the past six years for me on Firefox. And on Explorer you always have the name of the latest track playing in the "now playing" panel. Sky have been in touch with me several times by email. The mob there have been marvellous. But this is a Firefox problem. Can't the whiz kids who designed the latest Firefox work out what is wrong!
Update: Re problem with streaming music on Sky.FM. Tried deleting the cookies and, yes, all back to normal. But surely I don't have to delete the cookies every time I want to stream music on Sky. Didn't have this problem with previous versions of Firefox. And, as I have said, no such problems with other browsers. There must be one brainstorm on the planet who can solve this. (Not me obviously.)
Well, the problem re streaming music from Sky.fm happens to be a "bug" (isn't it always?) that went in when the new Firefox and Flash were combined. I've been in touch with Sky a number of times by email and, yes, others scattered around the globe have the same problem. How many times have we witnessed problems turning up with new downloads of Firefox. So here we go again. Meanwhile, I've gone back to Internet Explorer. No worries there. And please, no helpful hints (?) about emptying the "cache" or the cookies or putting a new set of plugs in the car, it's a FIREFOX PROBLEM, as always. Fix it fellers!
Fix it how? Provide steps to reproduce with links, details, error messages etc... Developpers need info to fix it eventually.

Hi Oxylatium! Thank you for taking the time to send me a reply. Actually it would seem it has been fixed at last. Been streaming for hours. I have had a number of emails back and forth with Sky. They have been great. The software developer at Sky also contacted me. It was a bug that got in with the latest Firefox coupled with a Flash download, so they say. Sky has had "scattered reports" from people affected like me. They have been doing all they could to get it fixed. Wished I hadn't got so cranky now. However I did listen to Sky on Internet Explorer, but while doing so I lost all the great extras I get with Firefox. Being back on Explorer, if only briefly, made me realise what a great browser Firefox is. Cheers Oxylatium! IAN.
