Cannot get rid of Yahoo search bar. Have tried everything. Nothing works. I hate it.
I have no idea how Yahoo got onto my Firefox browser but I hate it. I've deleted everything I can think of Yahoo related but no success.
Please help.

Hi,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

If the problem persists, you can Start Task Manager (right-click the taskbar) > Processes > Show processes from all users. You can then search/post online for the real programs behind suspicious Image Name, and try uninstalling the external Windows program behind the suspicious name via Windows Start menu, or Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features, or at least make settings changes in the external Windows program. Thanks so much! That got rid of it for me. Even though I have to put things back the way I had them, its a relief to have that darned Yahoo7 toolbar gone!!
Many thanks again, you're my hero!
I'm curious.
Which Yahoo search bar do you mean?
Was that with searching via the location bar or the search engine that is used with the (Google) search bar on the Navigation Toolbar or the search bar on the about:home page or did you have an extra search bar on a toolbar or even somthing else?
