search bar wont work at all- no search engines, drop down wont allow "find more search engine"

On the search bar, there is a blank page icon where search engine icon should be. when i click manage search engines, the popup shows no search engines and does nothing when i click "get more search engine" its completely disabled.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.

Flash is notorious for not cleaning out the older version as part of an update. Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.
