My email service provider, Wave Broadband, recently reconfigured their email system. Prior to the reconfiguration I had an "All Mail" folder in Thunderbird. It is no longer there. Hoe do I get it back?

Chosen solution

All Mail suggests that they employ googlemail for their email service.

In a regular googlemail account, you get a bundle of special folders grouped under a [gmail] heading. Is it hiding in there?

OTOH it's possible that they previously used googlemail and have recently switched to a different provider, hence there would likely be no All Mail folder.

Why do you want to see this folder? I find it a waste of screen space. It's a side effect of the way that Google do email. They lump all your messages together into one folder, All Mail, and use tags to separate out the relevant messages for the view you have selected. Since other mail providers use real folders, they don't need this All Mail folder.

Use of Gmail, IMHO, has serious privacy concerns. I think it is remiss of an ISP not to alert you to the fact that they have handed you over to Google. Microsoft are no better. With Windows 10 you have to sign into a data sharing agreement, which potentially makes any Windows usage as intrusive as Google's user tracking.
