Firefox stopped loading. I searched Google and found instructions to:

Open Firefox Menu - -> Help Menu - ->Troubleshooting Information --> Refresh Firefox.

I followed this REFRESH procedure and Firefox loaded and performed normally I then closed it.

But now each time I want to use Firefox I must go through the entire: Open Firefox Menu - -> Help Menu - ->Troubleshooting Information - ->Refresh Firefox.

How can I open Firefox without going through the entire REFRESH procedure each time?

Thank you

What's your computer system and Firefox version?

Refresh Firefox {web link} is a LAST RESORT ! !

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

If you're having problems with Firefox, refreshing it can help. The refresh feature fixes many issues by restoring Firefox to its default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks, passwords, and open tabs.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Followed instructions to start in "Safe Mode." This did not solve problem.

Then followed "Refresh" procedure. Firefox opened with a blank, white page.

See attached.

My operating system is Windows 7. Not sure how to find what version of Firefox I'm using.

I followed these instructions to create a new Profile with Profile Manager.

With Firefox not running I went to:

Start-->Run Command--> entered firefox.exe-P

Got error message "Windows cannot find firefox.exe-P"

I then typed firefox.exe-P into "search programs and files" and got same error message

firefox.exe-P

There needs to be a space in front of the -P, after .exe.

Like this - firefox.exe -P

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

It is possible that your firewall or other security software blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Created a new profile with Profile Manager by typing firefox.exe (space) -P into the "Run Command" box.

I then selected the newly created profile and followed the start-up instructions.

Unfortunately Firefox still opened with the same blank page as before.

I then did the start in "Safe Mode" procedure, but this also produced a blank page.

But I still can open and use Firefox as normal by following the "Troubleshooting Information - -> Refresh Firefox" procedure as I have done in the past.

Using this "Troubleshooting Information - -> Refresh Firefox" procedure each time to open and use Firefox only takes 3 mouse clicks, so I'm okay with continuing to open Firefox this way..
