I cannot upgrade my OS as our machines (Mac Minis with 1GB RAM) do not have the Pentel processors needed for the 'Snow Leopard' OS, and although I can DL the install programs for FF4, I am prevented from drag and dropping them into my Applications folder

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

Thanks very much. Worked perfectly - although strangely I have experienced difficulties with this Forum, or I would have thanked you sooner!
