When I click the Remember Me box on sites, it will remember it until I close the browser. When I open the browser again, it has logged out of everything. This is quite irritating as I have many accounts on many sites with many usernames and passwords. I have told FireFox that I want to be tracked, but it has not affected it. I told FireFox never to remember history, but I don't see how that could effect it.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.

  • Create a cookie Allow exception to keep such cookies, especially for secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception.
