My husband deleted all my emails from his laptop, which deleted all of them from my laptop. How can I retrieve them?
We both have a shared account, as well as individual gmail accounts. Since he inherited my older laptop when I bought my new one, he wanted to declutter it from the 1000's of emails I had stored in files. So he deleted them. When i realized what he did, I went to gmail.com to search for them, and they were not there either. Is there any way to retrieve them through TB or through gmail? These are years worth of emails. :<( Please respond to me on my jenarihealth@gmail.com

If they are not on your providers server I am not sure where else you think they are going to be.

Look in gmails All Mail folder. That is usually where they go. Then learn how IMAP email works. It will prevent this mistake nex time.

Thanks for the thought, but I looked in All Mail and the only emails there are from yesterday and today. Any other thoughts? I hate the thought of losing those emails.

This may be obvious, but just in case: Did you check Trash on the server?
Is there any Thunderbird profile backup you could restore?
On your husbands computer: Did he compact folders after deleting the messages? The data may still exist on disk. So just in case, create a profile backup there. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Backing_Up_and_Restoring
Thank you for your response. No he didn't compact the folders I don't know of a TB profile backup? Yes, I checked the Trash on the server. I also checked All ail. nothing! :<( Thank you again for your suggestions.
