Do you mean the toolbar text and icons are shrunken as well as the content? Are other applications affected?

If it's only Firefox and only content:

It still could be zoom because it's easy to accidentally change the zoom level by scrolling the mouse wheel with the Ctrl key held down. To test this possibility, simply reset the zoom level on the problem site(s) to the default using either:

• Ctrl+0 (that's a zero)
• The reset button on the menu, which shows a % value (between the - and + buttons)

If it's everything:

Hmm... I'm stumped. I wonder whether there's a hotkey associated with changing the overall resolution on your display?

It is everything! I wondered myself if I could have hit a hotkey that I was not aware of either. I just got a new keyboard so maybe that is what happened. Is there anyway to check for this....please don't say check the box because, of course, I threw that away!!

I had already reset the zoom level before I wrote in, just in case I had triggered it by mistake. But, alas, that was not the problem.

Any other suggestions?

If you right-click the Windows desktop to access the Screen Resolution setting, is there anything odd going on there?

Look for a text size link in the dialog and see whether that got set back down to 100% instead of 125%, if you had it on 125% before.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode. You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab. Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

I checked the resolution and it is what has been automatically selected for my monitor. It has not changed since I have had the computer....three years.

I checked the compatibility mode and nothing is selected.

I just noticed that my toolbar seems to be normal, so it is just the screen and text. I've reset the default on the zoom and this does not do anything.

Hmm, not sure which toolbar is normal and which is not. Do you mean the Windows Task Bar is normal but everything else is too small, or your Firefox toolbar is normal and the web page content is too small?

In case it's a transient setting, have you tried shutting down and restarting Windows?

Everything at the top looks normal. Everything on the web page is in a very fine print. Is it possible that I accidentally changed the font with my keyboard? I'm going to do a search for my keyboard to see if I can find some information from them. Thanks for trying to help.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Two other questions come to mind:

(1) If you manually zoom the content larger (Ctrl+) does the site look normal or does it have a modified layout, such as all text being the same size?

(2) If you try the same site in a new window (Ctrl+n) does it have the same problem or is the problem limited to that one window?
