Norton Safe Web, TD Ameritrade conflict on Firefox 65.0.2: Works on other browsers.
Re: Norton Safe Web blocking access to TDameritrade.com on Firefox Quantum version 65.0.2 (64 bit) Posted: 14-Mar-2019 | 4:44AM • Edited: 14-Mar-2019 | 4:55AM • Permalink
It brings up the login screen, you enter your user name and Password. The screen goes blank and begins to load till it gets to this point. "https://invest.ameritrade.com/grid/p/site (link is external)." Web screen remains blank.,
Unlike before, instead of the untested, it, now, shows a green check mark & safe but still won't load with Safe Web activated.
W/o Safe Web it goes blank for a split second showing the address above and then goes here:
"https://invest.ameritrade.com/grid/p/site#r=home (link is external)"
which is your personal home page...
If you turn Safe Web on at this point, and reload the page it stops at the first address and freezes (blank page....)
So, there's something going on between you and the brokerages and it almost sounds like you're blaming each other...
...............................................................
Now they're blaming Firefox and telling me to use Chrome or IE instead where there's no problem...

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
We have had a few threads about problems with blank pages or incomplete pages with Norton Safe Web.
Normally I would suggest checking with Norton on whether their extension needs an update or a settings change, but it sounds like they deny it's a problem. Hmm...
I'd already done all that, I could access the site, added the theme back, could still access the site, added the bookmarks back, added the add-ons back one at a time and it worked till I added Norton Safe Web.
TD Ameritrade blames Safe Web, and Norton's pointing the finger at Firefox since it works on Edge, IE, and Chrome...
With the latest update to Norton, it now freezes after login at:
https://invest.ameritrade.com/grid/p/login
different address but still a blank page.
Turn Safe Web off, no problem. Use IE, no problem...
Norton and their damn add-ons for Firefox has been causing major issues for Firefox users going back to Firefox 5.0 (June 2011). It's almost like everyone that works for Norton doesn't know what they are doing with anything except Microsoft software.
