Degraded usability for visually impaired in version 68.0. I use white text on black background which worked well in previous version. After upgrading to 68.0 m?
After upgrade to 68.0 text fields and buttons are now black on black (totally unreadable) or black on white (difficult for me because of my vision impairment. In previous versions these were all white on black which is much easier for me to read. Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Shawn

Are you using a High Contrast theme on your Linux OS?
Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
Thanks for the reply! I am not using a High Contrast theme. I am running Ubuntu 18.04.2. I use the Firefox settings to override the colors on the page to set the background to black and the text to white.
Since v68.0 Firefox seems to not be obeying the Always override colors setting. I've attached a screenshot of my Firefox color preferences page. Shawn
I filed a bug report. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1570450
I looked at this a bit on Windows. Normal text fields on websites stay black-on-white for me. Fancier sites certainly could be different.
The Add-ons page is hard to use because the menu button (•••) is black-on-black, as is the menu that drops when you click it.
I didn't test this in Firefox 67, so I don't have a basis for comparison.
I think most forum volunteers would generally suggest using an extension like Dark Reader instead of the "Always override" setting. Once you select "Always", a lot of customizations become impossible, and you lose useful details like background colors that create the outline of certain buttons on sites.
Thanks for looking at this! Also, thaks for the pointer to Dark Reader. The issue I have with extensions like this is that they often end up showing dark colors on a dark background which is fine for people with normal vision who want a dark theme but does not provide enough contrast for me because of my vision impairment. That is why I want the monochrome white on black for everything.
