Signature placement failure
Hi, Not sure if relevant, but using windows 10 and Thunderbird 91.2.0 (64-bit). I have set my Account Settings preferences: Account Settings > Composition & Addressing. Selected "start my reply above the quote" and "place my signature below my reply (above the quote). And yet, my signature (which happens to be an image file) persistently appears under the quote and not underneath my reply. Tried restarting Thunderbird after making the changes, but nope, nothing's changed. Please enlighten me. What am I missing here and how can I stop this? Anybody? Thanking you.

I can't duplicate that on W10/91.2: the (image) signature obeys the choice in Settings. Note that each account has its own setting. Does it work if you change the setting to below the quote, close Settings, then change it back to above the quote? Does it work in safe/troubleshoot mode (hold Shift when launching TB)?
Thank you for looking into this. I tried what you suggested and still got not answers. I guess I shall have to manually move my image signature to where I want it. Thanks again.
I can't duplicate that on W10/91.2: I've just tested with signature html file with image and it appears above the quote. So it is behaving as expected.
However, if using an addon like 'Signature Switch' then this may be causing the problem. It is a known problem that does put Signatures below quote in Replies.
So you would need to test by restarting Thunderbird in Safe Mode. In Thunderbird - Menu app icon > Help > Troubleshoot mode
Aah! Yeah! I do use Signature Switch because one of them contains my phone number which I don't like to divulge to everyone I reply to. Is there any way of getting round this? If not, no big deal really, if I have to manually relocate it to the desired position. Thanks for solving the mystery Toad-Hall. Must pull out that Wind In The Willows book again, been a while. Cheers
If you ran TB in safe mode, any extension like Signature Switch would have been disabled. But you said it had no effect.
If it works in normal mode with Signature Switch disabled, but you still want to apply multiple signatures, consider the Quicktext add-on.
