Switch to tab Bug?

There seems to be a bug in the switch to tab logic where it will force-autocomplete an 'h' for http. This happens if you try to type an address and there's another tab whose address starts with the same letter.

An example probably explains best: let's say you already have a tab open to macnn.com. If you try to go to market.android.com by typing m-a-r etc., the address bar will automatically change to "Switch to tab: http://www.macnn.com" with the 'h' not selected. So if you keep typing it will go to harket.android.com. The only workaround is to keep typing and go back and fix it.

I can post a screenshot if there's a way to do that.

Exactly the same. My workaround is to type a space before the 'm'. Also, it doesn't happen for any other first letter - only 'm' causes the "Switch to tab:" to appear, even if I do have a dozen other weirdly-named tabs open.

I found a workaround: check if your preference browser.urlbar.autoFill isn't set to true. Mine was, and these features apparently don't get along well. I set it to false and can now type 'm'-starting addresses.

just wanted to voice the sentiment that this is not much of a workaround... one of the first things I did was search out how to enable autofill (it is not enabled by default after installation) because I found it such a nifty feature introduced in IE9 when I tried it out a couple of weeks ago. It eliminates at least one keystroke (down arrow to highlight the entry you want to select; rather with it, you just hit enter).

Therefore here's to hoping they'll fix this soon. I think I'm just going to disable switch-to-tab for now because I value the AutoFill feature more.

I am facing the same problem. The issue happens most commonly with 'h' and 'm'. With other alphabets it is not so frequent.
