I have seen a number of threads about this issue, and attempted the fixes suggested in one of them and did not find any relief. I'm on an HP Pavilion dv6 Running Windows 7 (home) with 4GB of RAM. Firefox has had up to 7 process trees open and consumed around half of it (around 2,000,000K) at times. On top of that, I'm constantly having problems with Firefox freezing for a period of time and then either releasing itself or crashing, with release being favored at an approximate ratio of 7:3.

I have made changes to the performance settings and accessibility options. Does anyone have any further answers?

Let's try turning off multiprocess:

To disable e10s/multiprocess go to about:config by typing it in your URL bar. Search for browser.tabs.remote.autostart using the search box on about:config. There may be multiple results. Set them all to false by double clicking on them and restart the browser.
