This has happened to me for over a year now on all the recent versions of Firefox. It does not happen all the time only occasionaly (3 times a week say).

When I am on a website (doesn't matter which), Firefox will display a Facebook image, like a picture or thumbnail that might have loaded earlier, in place of another image on the current website.

For example I will be looking at a forum, and the "New thread" button image will be replaced by a picture of my friend from facebook!!?

It's a very bizzare caching issue, but happens too often to be a freak occurance.

This happened

== For the past few versions of Firefox on OSX 10.5

"Clear the Cache": Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

You may need to clear the cache folder on your hard drive. You can find the location of the cache on the about:cache page (open that page via the location bar like a website). MAC: /Users/<username>/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/Cache --- Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions. You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
