I reset Firefox. Now when I click on the icon to open Firefox my computer asks me if I want to let Firefox make changes to my computer. How do I get rid of this
I just reset Firefox. Now, whenever I click on the icon to open the browser, my Dell laptop Inspiron computer asks me if I want to let Firefox make changes to my computer. This has never happened before. How can I stop it from happening? Thank you.

Open Task Scheduler by entering “sched” (without quotes) in the Start search box. Another way is Control Panel-System and Security-Administrative Tools-Schedule tasks.
In the right pane of the Task Scheduler interface , click “Create Task”. .Create a task , Give the task a name. You will need to use this later. Be sure to check the box by “Run with highest privileges”. This is what keeps the UAC prompt from popping up. Click the tab “Actions” Click the button "New..." The dialog window shown below will open.Add an action to the task Enter or browse to the full path and name of the program you want to run. If it has spaces, enclose the entire path and name in quotation marks. Click "OK" If you are using a laptop or other battery-powered device, click the "Conditions" tab and remove any power settings that might interfere with running on a battery. Click “OK” Next, you create a shortcut to run the task:
Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop. In the context menu that opens, choose New—Shortcut. In the box under “Type the location of the item”, enter
schtasks /run /tn "your_taskname"
where your_taskname is what was used in step 4 above. Be sure to keep quotes around the task name. Click “Next” Enter a name for the shortcut. Click “Finish” Place the shortcut anywhere convenient. And there you have it – a shortcut that will run a program with elevated privileges without the UAC dialog popping up.
Hello Lyndalouvt, be sure that Firefox is not set to run as Administrator. Right-click Firefox shortcut > Properties > deselect all items in Compatibility tab.
"Run this program in compatibility mode for:" keep it unchecked
check the same in firefox.exe program in Firefox program folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\

You can use Windows key + R to open a run window and paste the firefox program folder location in it and open it directly.
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ as ideato has stated above.
