Firefox crashes
I have a Lenovo T440p laptop running windows 7. Since about 2 days ago, when I click the Firefox icon to start Firefox, instead of Firefox starting, I just get a pop-up box that says
Mozilla Crash reporter. Firefox had a problem and crashed. etc.
At the bottom of the pop-up box is a button "Restart Firefox". If I press that, I just get another pop-up box exactly the same. I tried this many times, with always the same result. I tried restarting the computer, and tried uninstalling firefox and re-installing it, but still get same result. I can't think of what else to try. I'll keep trying on google to find a similar problem described there.
I followed a procedure I found on google to get a crash ID. The crash ID is: bp-7662c281-74cd-419c-b51f-ed24d2140930
I tried googling this crash ID but google says it doesn't match any documents.

This laptop belongs to my employer "Cadence Design Systems, Inc." I tried uninstalling Digital Guardian, but it does not allow me to uninstall it without a "key". Then I called our IT Helpdesk. The helpdesk person told me my company does not allow me to uninstall Digital Guardian, but fortunately this is a known problem and there is a solution -- the solution is, instead of using latest Firefox downloaded from the internet, I should use a special version of Firefox available from my company's software download area. I did that, and this special Firefox starts up correctly without any problem! Thanks for your help in solving this problem!

hello lougalbiati, this crash is caused by the "Digital Guardian" software by Verdasys that is running on your computer. Please see if there's an update available for that program or else remove it.

Digital Guardian may only support Firefox ESR versions and not the latest releases.
I have a similar problem. My work laptop is the same Lenovo model reported by the originator of this thread. It is owned by "Cisco Systems". My problem with Firefox began about a month ago. At that time, I was prompted by Firefox that a new version was available. I let the message expire, then installed update 35.0 before closing Firefox.
Ever since then, I get the Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog *every time* I either exit Firefox (via the File > Exit menu choice), or by clicking the X at the top right corner of the browser window. The dialog box is displayed a few seconds, or perhaps a minute after I close Firefox.
The most recent crash took place about five minutes ago. I was directed by a colleague to install the EPUBReader for Firefox for viewing publications that we render for the ePUB platform. After installing the add-on, Firefox prompted me to restart.
I attempted to, but the Firefox failed (or hung up), and the crash reporter dialog opened instead. I typed in what I'd been doing, then clicked the Restart Now button. Only two Firefox tabs opened correctly, my home page and the Welcome page for EPUBReader. The other four tabs I had open before restarting were not opened.
I did not think to capture the details of the most recent crash report (about 5 min ago), but will add to this post, if requested.
The Mozilla Crash Reporter does not open when I start Firefox after booting up. It only displays when I exit, close, or restart Firefox.
Please help! Thank you!
