Hello, Thunderbi9rd 45.0 Win 10 Pro.

I have had this problem for quite some time now.

If I want an inline image (jpg) in my email and send that email to myself, just an empty box is displayed. I unchecked the "append to email" box. I am not using a Proxy and use Norton 360 with backup as Firewall and Virus checker. BUT the GIF's on your email compoistion page do get sent.

Any help on this?

My guess is your problem id Norton.

Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX

If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

Thank you Matt, but it is still happening - no online jpg but the thunderbird gifs are displayed. I disabled Norton 360 too. Program updates are always being done by MS.

I've had this problem for at lease 4 years. Telling people to look in the append for my files - a work around solution.

However I will retry again, when my computer has finished collecting data so I cannot re-boot .

No - no change also disabling just about every programme and stopping the Norton 360 Firewall and Virus checker did not help.

Perhaps disabling Norton is not enough and some elements may be running.

But sending an email to myself should surely not cause security problems.
