Message download error on gmail stops downloading. When I do get it to download, the Subject is from one e-mail and the e-mail message is from another e-mail
Download message error occurs in 52 and 57. Gmail stops downloading messages and error asks if you want to delete the message because of a virus. I can go to gmail and forward the message and it will download normally. What is happening is that the subject column shows one e-mail and the corresponding e-mail in the view e-mail column is from another e-mail. BTW I had to go back to 52 because I have to process hundreds of e-mails a week and clippings won't work in 57.

So who or what is detecting a virus? Virus scanners can break your mailstore. :-(
If the message content is out of sync with the message list, you need to re-index. But if your message store is broken or has been corrupted (perhaps by the actions of anti-virus) then you may lose content.
- back up your profile
- go to folder properties|repair folder
- if this is good, compact your folder
If the above makes things worse, you can revert to the current state of affairs by restoring from your backup.
Nope. It came through Thunderbird. Already backed up profile. Deleted massive quantities of e-mails. Already archived. Compacted files done. All still happening. So, loaded a prior backup and it fixed it for a couple days, then it started appearing again. So am writing here to see if others having this issue and how to fix it.
