do i need to fix this?
ok so a whole bunch of us had issues with firefox refusing to start after an update to avast cleanup premium. what worked for me was moving my mozilla file from program files to program files (x86). and actually avast fixed their problem very quickly. when i tried to move the mozilla file back to program files however, i get the following message: "your firefox profile cannot be loaded it may be missing or inaccessible"...so i'm just wondering if leaving the mozilla file in program files (x86) will cause future problems with updates or anything else. can i just leave it there or should i try to fix the profiles issue?

You can leave 64-bit Firefox in the 32-bit programs folder. That was the default setup for a long time.
But I really don't understand where the error message is coming from, because profile folders are normally under
C:\Users
and not in the program folders.
Could you check the current profile folder location on the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, find the Profile Folder row, and it should have a path similar to the following (the italicized parts will be custom to you). Is yours in some very different location?
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\abc123wz.default
no, it's there. that's another thing...so weird. ok, i have two profiles there one is called (some numbers and letters)pw.default-release and is dated june 9 which is when i started having problems, and the other is called (some numbers and letters)fw.default. this is probably unrelated, but i also keep getting blue screen errors, which is really freaking me out. i've had this laptop for less than 2 months. i've checked for malware, etc..nothing seems to be wrong. i've done system file checker. it said it repaired corrupted files, but i just got another blue screen error; actually 2 in the last 1/2 hour. none of this was happening before the 9th or 10th...constant ESENT errors in event viewer. and also, this. this was one of the ones that just happened. hmmmmm avast again...
