"Secure Connection Failed": Firefox for Android only

more options

Hi.

My internet banking site seems to not work with Firefox for Android.

It works fine with:

  • Firefox (Desktop)
  • Chrome (Android)

The page is:

https://login.anz.com/internetbanking

Just wondering where should I report this.

Firefox is not one of the bank's officially supported browsers , but given it works fine on Firefox Desktop, is it a problem with Firefox for Android?

Duncan

Hi Duncan

Apologies for the delay, it has been a bit of a challenge getting my head around what is happening so I hope that this explanation makes sense.

It appears that Firefox and Firefox for Android have different approaches to handling website certificates. We are looking into harmonising Firefox for Android with Firefox on the desktop, but I cannot give an ETA of when that will be.

In the meantime, being very aware that this is a banking website, I recommend that you use the banks dedicated banking app which should be a secure way to access your accounts.

Hi Seburo.

No problems. I just wanted to raise this to make the issue known.

Seems like it's being worked on
