Suddenly I can't view imbedded video on any site!...just a white box!
Recently I lost all ability to view videos on the web through Firefox 13. Videos still work fine w' IE and Chrome and YouTube still works. But w' imbedded video on Yahoo, news sites etc. I just have a big white space. I've also noticed that some adds don't load (perhaps they're video clips as well) and are also a blank white space. Is there a plug-in or extension required for this? I tried downloading new versions of Adobe Flash but I'm not sure how, or if, it installs into Firefox. I'm not sure what changed. All used to work fine.....not sure what changed.

Do you have the newest Flash plugin, version 11.3, released last Friday? Check out this new support article: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox. Does anything there help?
Thanks much for your response. And, pardon my ignorance. How do I tell if I have the newest flash plugin? Is this Adobe Flash? That's part of what I was asking before. I don't see a flash player for Firefox.....where is it? I've downloaded Adobe Flash and tried to install it, but I don't know where it goes. If you're talking about a separate Firefox plugin, I can't find such a download.
I did follow some of the steps in that article....and coincidentally I did just recently download RealPlayer...but it was to try to get my video back...not likely the cause of my problem.
I've tried disabling all the RealPlayer plugins as well as the Java. Actually I did have the video working for a minute or so, but could never duplicate the combination of enabled and disabled plug-ins to get the result again. I tried every combination
Here are the plug-ins I have:
(though it's a bit of a mish-mash from copy and paste)

Yes, you have Shockwave Flash 11.3.300.257 which is the latest. Long story behind the name...
Indeed I do! And, I guess that is my problem. OK, I'll continue to work through the given solutions but I'm not sure it's working for me....I'm disabling everything! Is there anyway to go back to an earlier version? This is getting to be a lot of trouble. Obviously the updated version is for better security...grat, but it needs to work. I've always liked Firefox but it seems easier to just start using Chrome, everything is working there.
I'll work w' these "solutions" (actually work arounds) for a while and let you know how I do .....but I don't have a lot of time to spend on this......I need to move on with life! Thanks for your help.
