I can't access https://finance.yahoo.com/
If I go direct to https://finance.yahoo.com/ I get
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at finance.yahoo.com.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
But I can go to:
https://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=SALM&a=06&b=1&c=1999&d=03&e=22&f=2016&g=m
however if I click the link at the bottom of the page: Download to Spreadsheet which is the link to
I get:

It worked recently. I suspect that an IOBit malware scan may have caused the problem but I can't find anything specific. However T'Bird got messed with at the same time. Those were just settings that controlled POP functionality and that turned off the "Unread" button when an e-mail was read.
I'm running W7 Pro SP 1 and Firefox 45.0.2 - it says it is up to date.
Thanks.

Additional: Both IE and Maxthon are having problems getting to finance.yahoo.com as well. Maxthon can't get to Yahoo at all. I get:
'Access denied
The server has denied your browsing request.
Please make sure you have the permission to access this page.
Error code 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED)'
IE can get to https://help.yahoo.com/kb/helpcentral but not to:
The error message is:
'This page can’t be displayed
•Make sure the web address https://www.yahoo.com is correct. •Look for the page with your search engine. •Refresh the page in a few minutes.'
I'm having no problem getting to other https sites, such as Mozilla, my bank, Startpage, in fact I have not seen this on any other https site.
Grrrrrr!

I don't have any troubles. The URLs change slightly but the web pages that open are obviously the ones you are after. As a first thing try disabling two of your plug-ins which do cause problems - thinkorswim loader thinkDesktop configuration loader Google for more information.
For the page you are after try - https://au.finance.yahoo.com/?p=finance.yahoo.com

Thanks for the suggestion. Both the thinkorswim loader and thinkDesktop configuration loader were set to "Ask to Activate" and had never caused a problem before about a week ago. So I set them to "Never Activate."
Using your link I got the Australian Yahoo, then clicked on the US link and it displayed the basic Dow, S&P, etc. then when I clicked on the link above those charts, which points to finance.yahoo.com I got the same error message so the problem is still there.
Sorry, I can't help any more. Your System Details aren't showing any extensions, as distinct from plug-ins. Is that correct? To help someone following you could try the diagnostic Safe Mode. Hold the Shift Key down as you open Firefox and then, in Safe Mode, see if the problem persists.
Hi alan_r
So I tried safe mode and no luck.
Yes, I have extensions, not sure why the don't show up in the list. They are the same ones that have been their for at least a year and the problem only started a few days ago. Besides safe mode disable them all, right? If so then it can't be any of the add-ons or extensions, right?
Thanks,
Allen
