Am new to thunderbird on Win10pro, using multiple Gmail account (incl G suite for work), would like to delete emails from gmail once deleted from Thunderbird 78.1.0 (32 bit). Am finding emails have disappeared from Tbird but still there in Gmail inbox. It is set with imap (not pop) What am i doing wrong?

The "remove it immediately" option won't work with Gmail. Use the "Move it to this folder" option instead, then select that Gmail account's Bin, Trash or Deleted folder. You can then have the Trash folder emptied automatically when quitting Tbird, which I see you've already enabled.

Thanks heaps. Now a calendar sync question, am unable to dismiss calendar reminder/alert/popups if i click the DISMISS button individually or DISMISS ALL button. All gmail cals, using TbSync account manager. Am i missing something? (currently limited to reminders to this week only if that helps)
