Thunderbird
When I try to run the program, I keep getting a message saying it is still running. I have uninstalled it, restarted my PC and reinstalled it but get the same problem and thus cannot access my emails.
Any ideas on how to get rid of the parent.lock file when I get a message saying it is in use? I have managed to copy the profile without this file and get things running normally on my laptop but my main computer still won't let me run Thunderbird,

Access the profile name folder and delete the 'parent.lock' file. Then start Thunderbird.
If using Windows - assuming your profile is in the default location:
- type: %Appdata% in Windows search
- choose the %Appdata% file folder. - see image below as guide.
- Select 'Roaming'
- Select 'Thunderbird'
- Select 'Profiles'
- Select the profile name folder
- delete the 'parent.lock' file
Start Thunderbird.
Thank you for your response. However when I tried to delete the file I had a message saying I couldn’t do so as the file was in use.
I cannot find a way to close what seems to be Thunderbird already running in spite of shutting down and restarting my computer several times. I have tried to close it via the Task Manager without success.
