I saved some emails from my hotmail account. They show up in the right folder as Firefox HTM documents. Now I cannot open them. Clicking takes me to a distorted hotmail page.

Saved web pages may contain code that links back to the server. Do you have Microsoft Word? You could try opening the message in Word to see whether it allows you to access the content of the email messages. (Word is aware of HTML but doesn't run scripts.)

In the future, perhaps a more reliable way to save messages is to print them to PDF. There are a number of free print-to-PDF programs for Windows you can use if you don't want to spring for Acrobat.

Thank you for your reply. I did try opening in Word, but that didn't work. But thanks for the tip for the future, as I do have Acrobat.

You can also use the print button on the Hotmail page and save that page or forward the messages to the email account of you ISP if you have such an account and save them there.
