Starting about three days ago, with no changes to my system that I can pinpoint, on ebay's listing pages I can no longer view full-size photos. On item listing pages, you see the main photo and thumbnails of additional photos. When you mouse over the main photo, if the picture is larger than this thumbnail, you automatically get a window. If you click on the additional thumbnails the display in the large picture area switches. Both of these behaviors have stopped working. Instead I see "javascript:;" in the lower left corner and nothing happens.

I tried turning off my anti-virus and running Firefox in safe mode. That did not change the behavior. I tried ebay in Internet Explorer and all is working properly. I am on Windows XP Professional SP3, 32 bit.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Yes, that corrected the problem. However, in the process it also 'upgraded' me to a beta version, 18.0. Can I 'reset' back to the production version somehow?

Actually, Firefox 18 is the release version, it isn't Beta anymore, so that's the version you want to be on.
