Video content over the internet does not work eg bbc iplayer, youtube etc. Tried the test on adobe site: could watch HTML 5 video but not the other one (non 5); can't disable hardware acceleration because I can't access it (you're suppose to right click on the flash icon on the adobe website flash player help page. But can't b/c the the icon becomes a stupid little box saying flash has crashed!!! have disabled all my plugins apart from shockwave flash, shockwave director 12.0.3.133 and adobe acrobat 10.1.8.24 but flash is still crashing and Adobe is "une daube" (ie cr*p)!

A common reason for Flash problems on Windows Vista and higher is the protected mode feature. If you haven't already tried disabling it, see this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

Also, it might not contain any additional information, but when Flash crashes, Firefox usually records information about what was happening at that moment. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. You can check the support article "Firefox Crashes" (especially the last section) for steps to get those crash IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.

Just btw., in another (now archived) thread, "the last [Flash] download" was mentioned, but not how to get it..

Edit: Oic, the page is @ http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

Removed unofficial link to Adobe Flash. -M
