A few days ago my wife clicked to open an email and the whole Thunderbird page changed so that it is now almost un-usable. I tried using the program that allows you to recover to a previous day with no luck. In frustration I saved the email file from profiles, uninstalled Thunderbird, rebooted then downloaded a new copy of the software and installed it, no luck, it opened with all my emails in the same almost un-usable configuration I can still receive email from a webmail program but it is slow and frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bruce

Error wirh MFA

NYU has used gmail combined with shibboleth MFA for over a decade. When there's a password change, TB opens a window using it's own browser (n.b.: this is different than the browser used when clicking on a link) and you go from there. This morning I did my yearly password change and now, after the initial accounts.goole window, when I get redirected to the shibboleth window, I get a 403 error. I also get a warning about invalid certificate. I tried pressing the "Get Certificate" button, but nothing happens.

A few thing to note: - I run TB (128.5.2) on a Mac Sequoia - no issues when logging into NYU using Firefox or Chrome or Safari. - I cleared the TB cache and cookies. - I created a new TB profile and tried starting from scratch. - I restarted TB with add-ons disabled

Nothing seems to solve the problem. Unfortunately NYU's IT can provide only limited help with 3rd party apps like TB.

I really depend on using TB, been using since the first release and have add-ons that I use on a regular basis.

After DECADES of Mozilla, I am DONE. I have donated, I have advocated, but Mozilla has too many problems, and I am now unable to even run the program due to the "Couldn't Load XPCOM" error, which is apparently so common there are threads about it. Before that it was impossibly slow delete times, which I managed to fix by messing with windows security. I feel the user should not have to deal with this, especially a donating user. Mozilla is, by far the best mail program... but now I can't even run it and I don't really like having to use "work arounds" on a program I am paying for. Oh, and I HAVE attempted deleting the folder, turn off security, reinstall option to no avail. I will miss this program for sure, but I think it's days are ultimately numbered.

I had a defective hard drive that was replaced. I lost the profiles that I had previously on the old hard drive (Except for the profiles from a year ago). Is it possible to reinstall Thunderbird as if it was a completely new program, link it to Spectrum webmail, and recover all my emails still on Spectrum webmail. and also create a new recreated profile. I have three email account in Thunderbird, two are AT&T (bellsouth.net) and one is gmail. One of the bellsouth emails is VERY slow, reading and deleting, but the other two emails run very good, no problems at all with reading or deleting. I have read through many many similar but not quite the same questions in the forum and I have tried every one of the suggested things to try to fix this but it is still a problem. Any new suggestions?

I see it as Thunderbird hijacking the resources of my computer to run Firefox and take me to the donation website. I'm fine with the request for money in the Thunderbird screen, I can navigate away from that. Don't open programs other than Thunderbird before I require them.

I have Thunderbird 128.4.2 (32 bit) on Windows 10 Home (64 bit). I want to add a second email account. To do this, I used File> New> Email Account. I entered the email address and password. TB found and entered a server configuration. The new email address appears in the Folder List but has only an Inbox folder after it. The other folders (Sent, Junk, Trash) are missing. Test messages show the new address in TB will send a message correctly except it hangs trying to save the sent message. The new address is unable to receive a message. Please advise how to get the new email account (outlook.com) set up in Thunderbird. Thank you.

Hi. I've recently lost the ability to have a unified in-box. I have five e-mail accounts, all of which are IMAP accounts. In addition, with the recent thunderbird upgrade my windows 10 pc client has moved each e-mail account around (up and down) and I can't figure out how to change the location in the left pane or otherwise order / align the e-mail accounts. Any assistance appreciated.

I have not changed my email accounts or my Google & Microsoft usernames or passwords. A few days ago when I started Thunderbird, two Google pop-ups arrive reading "Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your Google Account" demanding that I deny or allow it. Why might this be happening and how do I stop it? This does not occur with other email apps such as Outlook for Windows.

I hope this message finds you well.

I am experiencing a significant slowdown in email synchronization in Thunderbird. Emails take a noticeably long time to appear after clicking, and the overall syncing process is extremely slow across all folders.

The problem began on Friday, December 6th, following my use of the "Repair" button on the Inbox (8.9GB) and Sent (10.7GB) folders. After initiating the repair for the Sent folder, synchronization across all folders (Inbox, Sent, Spam, etc.) slowed down considerably.

Already done: Checked "All Mail" on Google IMAP: The folder does not appear in IMAP. Troubleshoot Mode: Attempted, but it did not resolve the issue. Reinstalled Thunderbird: Uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird on my Mac, but the problem persists.

The issue seems isolated to Thunderbird and does not impact my Mac’s overall performance, memory usage, or speed. The synchronization delay affects only Thunderbird, while other applications function normally. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this issue and restore normal synchronization performance.
