So I start typing an email and in the middle of typing the cursor just jumps to a random part of the reply text. There doesn't seem to be any pattern but it does happen with some frequency. I'm operating W7 and had been on Mozilla 31.2.0 until just now.

Thanks, Mark

Argh, sorry, I should read all the words. :-)

This used to be a common complaint and I thought it had gone away with the recent revamp of the Compose window. But that doesn't apply to you.

Still having the problem even with Thunderbird 31.3.0.

Does this happen with other inputs such as using a text editor, etc? I used to have that problem and found that it was the touchpad on my laptop, where my thumbs would brush the pad and be interpreted as a click! I was able to deactivate the touchpad and use a wireless mouse instead.

I haven't noticed the problem except in Thunderbird and as Zenos mentioned this was and apparently still is a problem with Thunderbird.

I am having the same problem, and I am using T-bird 31.4. Hasn't happened in quite a while before today, so I don't know what is happening. My T-bird has crashed a few times lately, and once I couldn't get out of "Safe Mode". o dump Thunderbir May be time td! See...that is what happens! hanks! T

But you wrote that above in your browser, not Thunderbird, didn't you?

Are you using Firefox?

True...so it's happening in FF and T'bird. I don't think the text editor test, which has been deferred to before, is relevant, or solves anything. Is there an explanation, first, and second, is this fixable?

Thanks,

Steve
