Can't Copy and Paste, Can't Click "Help" Menu

more options

Firefox was just updated to 37.0.2, however, this problem existed before the update. When I try to "copy and paste" from one webpage to another, I'm able to right click and "copy" but when I try to "paste" to another page, I get a menu that says "Save Page As," "Select menu," etc., but no "paste."

I also cannot click on the "Help" button at the top of Firefox. All of the other buttons work, except this one. The only way I can get it to work is open "Customize," then close it, and the "Help" menu then works.

Anyone have any idea how to correct these problems? Thanks for the replies!

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you, cor-el. I tried Firefox in Safe Mode and had no problems copying and pasting or with the "Help" button. Found out, too, what extension was causing both of these problems. It was the "Swagbucks" button. I'll miss it, but until it's fixed, I won't use it. Again, thanks so much for the help!
