I was given a laptop for Valentine's Day with Windows 8.1. Included was Kaspersky Internet Security as an additional gift .I also added MalwareBytes. I only use Mozilla Firefox and Yahoo on my laptop. Up until 2 days ago Firefox allowed Kaspersky to run Safe Money and 2 other programs which I still need. Why is Firefox blocking these programs & how can I get everything to run again as before? I tried running Safe Money in Kaspersky with Yahoo & Firefox still blocked it. I restarted my puter, ran Kaspersky & then MalwareBytes. Everything is ok according to both those programs. However these blocked programs still won't run. Help!!! Why is Firefox doing this???

hi, please get in contact with kaspersky's support and inquire where & when they will make a compatibility update for their extensions available (as this is always the task of the addon author). ultimately you are paying them for this service...

me too. kaspersky safe money no longer works. mozilla, if your clients are having this problem, YOU contact kaspersky and ask them to do it. try to remember that your clients are not techies, and we just want a product that works without having to do anything. the general chatter on the web is that YOU have caused the problem, not kaspersky. is that what you want?

Sorry jill

Firefox works.

The problem is the additional third party software you installed; in this instance software from Kaspersky. You must ensure that is kept up to date and it is Kaspersky's responsibility to keep that compatible with Firefox if they wish to use it on Firefox.

I have not looked into this specific issue in detail, but it is often the case that the basic functional software e.g. the Anti Virus software remains functional.

What is breaking is likely to be additional secondary software, possibly unnecessary, and possibly added to monetise the product or to increase your dependence on the product.

Do you have latest product update? http://www.kaspersky.com/product-updates

Also Kaspersky may still not fully support Win64 Firefox.

Unlike with most Extensions, those that tie in with antivirus clients for example needs to be updated for each new major Release of Firefox. A version made for Firefox 43 (and maybe a few older versions) will not have been made to work on Firefox 44 for example.

I appreciate your prompt response, however the point is to provide clients with seamless service. kaspersky worked perfectly before the firefox update. if there were some issues created by that update, mozilla should have informed its clients with specific instructions (and i am ashamed to say that i need instructions that a 4 year old can understand).

The other alternative would be that, once being informed of a rather large problem, mozilla could have taken the initiative to contact kaspersky and resolve the problem behind the scenes before clients put their financial data at risk. that's the kind of pro-active client service that i would have expected.

in addition, the safe money feature of kaspersky seems to be very necessary in order to protect private financial data. i bought it in order to depend on it, although you seem to think that it's unnecessary.

Hi Jill, I am trying to give a quick reply from a phone and can not at the moment easily check details

You may just need to update your Kaspersky software

Firefox was Not AFAIK, making any sudden unexpected or unannounced changes.

Firefox has a well known update schedule. The revised updates are usually available for all to try prior to being released. The updates usually go through trials 18 , 12 and 6 weeks before end users see them. Kaspersky will be well aware of this and so can test their software on these pre release versions.

I have not tried to check what the "safe money" feature is or what it does, however I would not be surprised to find similar free software is available. If you pay Kaspersky for that they should keep it compatible with Firefox, but there may be a slight lag between Firefox updating and Kaspersky advising you they have an update available.

Have you checked if they have an update ? And have you installed any such update yet ? I think this was mentioned by James in a post higher up in this thread.
