When I visit some sites "Adcleaner for Mac"is downloaded! How do I stop this from happening?

It and another .app are placed in my Applications folder and opened the dock. They won't be quitted. Have to quit Firefox and then remove them from Appl. folder and dock and empty trash. One hides in a ew folder called "MacOS" placed in the Applications folder. Lately ithas been coming through football (SEC) sites. My Security is on in Preferences but it happens anyway.

Hi, you have a plugin Trovi Search Plugin 1_0_0 which might be causing this, so try disabling/removing it - Add-ons Manager (Cmd+Shift+A) > Plugins.

You also have an add-on chumsearch 1.0.0 which is also suspect, so try disabling/removing it - Add-ons Manager (Cmd+Shift+A) > Extensions.

I'm not familiar with Mac, but I recommend you do a search for these/look in the programs on your machine.

You can also run https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
