I can't see any way to allow auto direct to websites so I always have annoying intermediate step to "allow". I tried published solutions such as Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"... but I have no such menu string that starts "Preferences" let alone "Advanced". Instead, if I click top right I get Options>General>etc ... but no way to find "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks and appreciate your help. But for any normal human, when confronted with a massive list of options ... none of them making much sense and none of them titled "auto-redirect" I am completely stumped as to what to do.

Would you please take a look at cor-el's post in this thread :

I just need to know what to do.

Would you take a look at my first post in that same thread - it explains what to do step by step.

In Firefox 56+ the "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" setting can no longer be found in Options/Preferences.

You can modify this pref on the about:config page to enable or disable this feature

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Thanks and appreciate your help. But for any normal human, when confronted with a massive list of options ... none of them making much sense and none of them titled "auto-redirect" I am completely stumped as to what to do. The pages you offer are just general pages that of course assume that you know what the title of the widget you are trying to deactivate, agr4ee with, boolean with (whatever the heck that means), etc. I just need to know what to do. Its like asking to meet the MP for something and being dropped off by taxi at the Houses of Parliament front door ...and there's no receptionist. (i.e. I know he/she is in there somewhere but if I open the wrong door I might get thrown out... or even arrested!

@cor-el, I do find that removing that options doesn't sound like a good idea to start with. As for me I have a blocker so any redirects gets slammed shut back to localhost because past experiences has shown me redirects are a fast way to get malware or permit virus infections. I do seriously think this needs to return and give the user that option not the other way around.
