Why won't Firefox remember frequently visited web addresses when I start to type them into the address bar? I now have to type the full address in every time. I don't know what has changed or how to fix?

Firefox used to remember the websites I went to which saved on typing. Now it doesn't, so each time I have to type in the full address.

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
