On 12/19/14 Firefox bug began to happen:

  • When having 1 single window open and opening tabs it behaves normal.
  • However when opening a new window the space between the bookmarks (Top) and the tabs (bottom) widens on all windows. Its annoying.

So far only way to fix is to close everything and open 1 single window, or to use "Classic Theme Restorer" add-on and switch the tabs position from bottom to top but any new windows will widen the gap again.

Unfortunately none of those options work, so far using "CTR" and returning the tabs to the Top (default) allows opening new windows without gaps. Seems to be some sort of bug recently showing up on CTR.

Need to find a way to contact the developer to let them know.

EDIT: It appears to be solved, seems a new release was out and the issue is gone. Thank you for the help.

I see that you have the Classic Theme Restorer extension, so it is likely that this is a toolbar added by the CTR extension.

You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page. You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)
