I think I've solved the problem by REFRESH FIREFOX in about:support menu. Everything is quick and the malware is not present so far...Thank you

OH, I have another problem: Mozilla adds GREEN CIRCLE WITH ARROW to some words and links them to something called DNSUnblocker. How do I get rid off this? The spyware removal program (Microsoft safety scanner) that has fixed my original program didn't detect anything wrong...

Hi max2, you have malware. Did you try the steps I posted here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1075365?page=1#answer-762147

more options

I've tried hard to follow all the steps; but I cannot find user.js file. But still, the green ugly circle appears :-(

Any suggestion for a graphical tool removing it?

GREAT THE GREEN SIGN IS OUT OF FIREFOX, THANKS

Hi max2, the user.js isn't supposed to exist, so if it's gone now, that's good.

What are your currently installed extensions? You can copy/paste the list from the support information page. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

Scroll down to the Extensions heading, and then select and copy the tabloe below it and paste into a reply. It's a little messy but don't worry about that, we're used to it.

Whoops, our posts crossed. If you see anything like that come back, we can check your extensions at that time.

Is this what you've asked for? Thank you for your great help. In fact I do not know which of my actions caused fixing the problem.

Hi max2, those look okay.

There is an update for Tab Mix Plus that is still in the review process. If you have noticed problems with bookmarking and need the update immediately, it's on the "versions" page here: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus/versions/

I have certainly some malware in my computer. Reimage found one called cpm.exe which I deleted manually since I do not have the license, but that was not enough. Currently I run free complete search from Microsoft Security Scanner but so far no file was infected. What if it exits without finding any, what other free tool shall I use?

Yes some pages they are trying to bypass addlocker by using embedded java code i found one page that was reloading the page and not trying to open a popup!? I used the form to report this to addblock plus and they may do something about it.

Some pages are using a downloader that 'allows' you to download and install a cracked versions of a known program and it starts with a downloader that is minimized in the windows tray section that you can't close what it does is to download and install so many root kits and highjacks IE and Firefox in the end I forced to make Norton 360 to fully scan any application that is running in the background and to block or allow any file is trying to run that way I manage to stop the most rootkits before they run. Then I started a ful scan with a registry clean and automatic reboot when it finished or you need to do a manual clean to the registry after using windows defender and reboot

Before I upload images how will you set Norton 360 tell me what you use for antivirus.

I use the standard embedded run-time antivrus from windows 8.1 I also used Microsoft Security Scan to fix some problems. Currently the DNSUnblocker virus in my computer has no visible symptoms, but I'm not sure if it is deleted.

The DNSUnblocker which annoys me quite a lot doesn't show it's ugly green circle after clicking on it twice. But in an hour,it reappears again.I checked the system with Norton 360 but nothing has been found.

it seems to me norton 360 was not running in your pc when you did run and install this type of virus it gets even to the shortcuts of firefox, ie and the antivirus can't remove it from there!? Run a full costom scan with registry clean in the end and choose shudown on complete the norton will remove it from the harddrive and the registry and will delete the entries in there.

You must remove it from the extensions in Firefox and addons in explorer to any shortcut you have of ie and firefox do a right click and choose the options make sure in there is only

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

and nothing more that is loading and redirecting you when you click the shortcut do you understand?

Is not a dangerus virus or root kit that requires too much attention you could do it and from safe mode making sure the shortcuts are clean

Our support article has a list: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware. It also mentions specialized forums for stubborn cases where they can walk you through the use of advanced tools.

Hi Jscher, first of all thank you for your patient help with my troubles. The best and perhaps unique solution was to refresh in about:support entire Firefox. Everything seems ok now.

I have a vision for a particular future Firefox addon. Where can I share this idea and how to make sure that some portion of donations, if successful, will be mine?

Hi max2, it sounds as though you want to recruit a developer partner to work with you. Maybe one of the following forums:

But I don't think anyone gets rich from donations, so...

What do you mean by "rich"? a few hudnreds of dolars from an idea would make me happy. Is that unrealistic? What is an avareage gain from such a thing?
