Moving over a profile to a new computer, I deleted the old profile and now thunderbird will not open even when reinstalling it.

This is a brand new iMac and for some reason the folders created on my last machine to find the Thunderbird folder in the Library directory isn't there, so there's no where for me to fix this problem.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird but nothing is working to get the path recreated so I can place my previous profile, or any profile for that matter.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You must not delete the profile Thunderbird creates when it is started the first time. Once the profile has been created shut down Thunderbird. Then copy the contents of the existing profile (i.e. the one from your old computer) over the newly created one.

You'll need to start over by deleting the file profiles.ini one level above the profiles directory before doing this.

Why so many people think re-installing Thunderbird fixes things is a mystery to me.
