on mac OS X 10.6.8 Firefox asks for importing bookmarks at each start (bookmarks have been imported already from chrome).
as I started firefox for the first time, I was asked to import my bookmarks and so on and I chose to import them from chrome and they all show up well. now each time I start firefox, it asks my again if I want to import them. if I chose "don't import", the bookmarks don't show up.
how can I solve this?
thanks for your time and cooperation! dan

It almost sounds that Firefox is creating a new profile every time you start Firefox. It is possible that there is a problem with the profiles.ini file.
Is there only one Firefox profile folder?
- ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory:
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Moambuepyre
If the above doesn't help, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save
Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
thanks for your answers.
in the profile folder is a file for each time I started firefox! how can I prevent it from creating a new profile each time?
I also tried "refresh firefox" and it tells me that firefox can't find my profile file...
thanks for your help, daniel
You need to locate the profiles.ini file and try if deleting this file helps in case there is a problem with the permissions.
