When I write a new email it doesn't display they way the receiver sees it. I have it set to a background colour with blue text. All I see in the write screen is black text on a white background. The text size is correct. How can I get the email I am composing to look like the way It will be received?

The bad news is that you as sender cannot absolutely control how it will appear in the recipient's email client. And that is quite right. Some users with sight problems may require particular colours or sizes, and not be obliged to suffer whatever you choose to impose on them.

However, go to Tools|Options|Display|Formatting|Advanced and make sure the "Allow messages to use other fonts" checkbox is ticked.
