How to make Command-W close a pinned tab?
The Command-W keyboard shortcut does not close pinned tabs, instead shifting focus to the first unpinned tab. I posted this as a bug to Bugzilla but was told it is intended behavior. It doesn't make any sense to me, and coming from Chrome I'm used to closing pinned tabs with the same keyboard shortcut as regular tabs. Is there a way I can customize Firefox so it will work the way I expect?

Hi, keyboard shortcut map : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly There maybe a extension that will work for you out of 2 I think : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=keyboard
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Thanks for responding, but unfortunately these solutions are not helpful.
Keyboard shortcut map is a good resource, but I already know the shortcut to close the current tab, it's Command + W.
It seems you just linked a generic extension search, with 1600 results. I tried a few with no success. I tried a custom script with Greasemonkey, but I would prefer not to allow_scripts_to_close_windows. Also this seems like a very complicated solution to a simple problem.
If you can recommend a specific extension for my need, that might be helpful.
IMO this should be an easy option to toggle in user preferences (allow keyboard shortcut to close app tabs).
