How do I change from esr to release chanel to update latest version
I use Windows XP and I cannot download the latest Firefox updates - current version is 60 and I am on 52.8.0 (32-bit) and am the esr channel - I do not know how I got there and would like to be able to go back to the release channel and update to version 60 - I only became aware of this because I have been experiencing crashes and "plugincontainer.exe" error message I want to go back to the regular version of Firefox, but no matter what link I try to download from, it always says it's the ESR version, even after I uninstalled Firefox and rebooted. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how I can get the regular version? I would be very grateful
Thank you

other major browsers have stopped support for that old os long before firefox did. an alternative to buying an upgrade would be to switch to a linux version that supports a lower spec pc...

hi, unfortunately support for windows xp was dropped after firefox 52, so it isn't possible to update to version 60 on that operating system: Firefox has ended support for Windows XP and Vista
There's no regular Firefox on WinXP anymore. ESR 52.8.0 is the recent version for you and ESR 52.9.0 will be the last update ever.
Thank you for your response - Outside of getting a new PC with windows 10 what can you suggest - I love & trust Firefox, but do I have to switch to a different browser and is there anything that is safe?
