ebay searches from search bar in toolbar ?

I recently discovered that I have a glitch using the Firefox 84.0 search bar in the toolbar. If I do a Ebay search with one word in the description the search is completed nicely. If I add another word to the description, the search takes me to the Ebay home page only. I have tried this when signed out of Firefox and Ebay with the same results. I cleared cookies and site data which did nothing to help. Same issues in safe mode. No matter the search criteria, one word searches work and two or more word searches do not. I then found that I have three computers all having the same issue. Perplexing.

a search of golf take me to : https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=golf a search of glove glove takes me to : https://www.ebay.com/

 Any thoughts ?

I personally don't search eBay very often, but when I tested, it affects me, too. I mean, it's so strange. Firefox sends a bunch of codes in the URL:

One word: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&toolid=20004&campid=5338192028&customid=&mpre=https://www.ebay.com/sch/lumix

eBay redirects to: https://www.ebay.com/sch/lumix

Two word: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&toolid=20004&campid=5338192028&customid=&mpre=https://www.ebay.com/sch/lumix 10-25

eBay redirects to: http://www.ebay.com/

WHY?!

Note: As you discovered, there's a filter for non-Mozilla URLs that delays the appearance of a post. Old-timers are exempt so I used the live links instead of breaking them. I guess that didn't work very well!

This problem sounds familiar. For some reason eBay's script does not like it when there is a space in the query. Hopefully eBay and Mozilla will be able to sort that out.

For now, as a workaround, you can type a hyphen between the words (golf-glove).

Thank you so much- Glad to know it's not on my end but I guess I will never get that hour+ back I spent trying to resolve the issue. Surprising I did find anyone speaking about this when searching the net. Do you know if this is random thing or all F.F. 84 users are seeing this ?

And here's the other thread I remembered. Also for Firefox 84: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/keqltl/ebay_search_engine_on_firefox_840/

Well, we'll have to wait and see.
