cor-el, your solution for ERROR Code: 232011 worked but I still cannot create a desktop shortcut for certain sites. It happens on utube, fox news and various other sites. Drag and drop does not work. Neither does copy and paste. Tried it in troubleshooting mode, tried it with user account control on and off, tried it with windows in safe mode, tried a system restore on windows. I can pin the site to firefox in the taskbar but on the desktop it creates a blank, empty file folder. Also on some sites I cannot turn off auto play. I can enter the site in auto play settings and save changes but it does not save. This all started after the last firefox update. I have worked on this for days with no progress. Do I need to re-install firefox ? I hope you have some answers. I am using 102.0 (64bit) on windows 10.

I heard that there is a fix for the drag & drop shortcut issue in ver. 102.1 released today.

I still cannot create a desktop shortcut for certain sites.

Firefox 102 has a bug where it fails to remove or replace certain characters that are illegal in Windows file names, particularly : and / or \ characters. Windows goes a little nuts as a result.

This should be fixed in the next update.

If you urgently need a workaround for a couple days, see this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1381640#answer-1516440
