Thunderbird address book is combining all the phone numbers in the list view
Hi there,
I have several phone numbers stored per contact in my address book. Nowon the address book list view, i noticed that all these numbers are put together in one field under phone numbers.
Is there a way to split this up and show multiple columns, for each type of number?
Thanks Ash

If you switch the addressbook view to vertical, the numbers appear by type, e.g., home, cell, work.
Thanks for your reply.
I did that, but it still groups the numbers together. I also cannot move the columns around in the address book, not sure if it is locked or something?
Thank you Ash
I don't think you can move columns around. Check one of your address entries in vertical view; each number should be on a separate row with category title, e.g., cell. If not, your numbers may have been entered into a freeform data area.
Why change to a program & layout that so severely limits functionality? The old address book was fantastic and allowed all the customization needed to function according to each users needs and eliminate extra steps.
Now the program is basically only good for collecting email addresses. I'm going back to my custom-made LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet and printing it for my Daytimer!
I also don't like the current trend of using large fonts and too much white space. Other issues: address spread out over 4 lines, the addition of pictures/logos in my address book (my phone and numerous other programs utilize this feature...not needed here), and in the horizontal view...the contact information boxes are no longer the same size or symmetrical, and in order to distinguish between multiple contact phone numbers you now have to click on the contact to open a screen containing their information!
