I added the following add on (https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/tag-toolbar/?src=search) to tag outgoing emails so I can track them. As a test I sent a tagged email to my personal address and then replied back. The email was tagged and colored when sent but not when the reply was received. Is there a way to be sure the tag is visible at all times???

It doesnt help much if the tag is missing when I get the email back.

re: The email was tagged and colored when sent but not when the reply was received.

You mean the email you composed was set up with a Tag whilst in the Write window and when the email was saved to the Sent folder of the account that Tag was shown. Thus saving you from sending the email and then accessing the 'Sent' folder to locate the email and set the Tag. So the addon is a time saver.

That is not the same as sending the email with a Tag as part of the email html. That did not occur.

When the recipient received the email, it would not have a tag of any description unless the recipient chose to add their own tag eg: Important, as a reminder it was urgent.

The 'Tag' would only be on your computer. It is an aid to sorting mail or helping you to ensure you deal with all those you set as Urgent etc. The Tag is not part of the email. The 'Reply' will not have a tag applied until you apply it.

Info regarding addon says:

You can add tags to a sent message. The tags are specified while you compose a message. Tag Toolbar also appears in the message compose window. Tags you clicked on it are added to the message saved to the sent folder.
