Tabs on top, and App button menu options missing in FF15 beta
1) Removal of the menu item for Tabs on Top in FF 15. The option is still available in about:config. So please give us the menu option back.
2) Menu option for removing the Firefox "App button" seems to have disappeared as well. I use Compact Menu 2 so the App button is a completely unnecessary element in the Firefox UI. Please put this option back too.
3) The feedback system in FF15 appears to be broken. Clicking on the submit button gives not visible sign that the feedback has been sent and the web page does not change.
Thanks for reading.

Well I have solved this one for now.
I'd forgotten about the SeaMonkey browser, which has a nice UI without most of the unhelpful (and arrogantly implemented) changes that started with Firefox 4. I can get a set of buttons that I like, tabs under address bar out of the box, and ABP and Element Hiding Helper work fine too.
Oh and one other fantastic improvement. Seamonkey does not have that annoying post Firefox 4 pop-up status notification pane at the bottom. It has a nice traditional status bar that stays in the same place all the time. Personally I find all pop-up notifications intensely distracting and after a while I automatically click them out of sight. The most annoying things is when they cannot be configured off - permanently.
Anyway that's me done with FireFox. That is until the Seamonkey project gets infected with the same insane "change for change's sake" virus that the Firefox team seem to have caught.

Hi,
Is it the Add-on Bar?? The option is still present and working. You can consider the Reset Firefox feature via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.
(To revert to the previous profile, close the new profile, start Firefox and choose the *.default profile. While the Profile Manager is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers)).
You can try to submit the Tabs on Top feedback/feature request after some time. There seems to be minor network issues. Please see this.
Tabs on Top only appears in the menus if it isn't the default to be on top.
If you have the tabs on top then you can only move the tab bar to below the toolbars via the about:config page.
@cor-el I have just checked the Tabs on Top behaviour, and you are right. This is the most rediculous UI change I have ever seen in any program.
Previously the Tabs on Top menu option was visible in the menu whether or not you had tabs on top or tabs below the address bar. I know as I have used it many times for people who didn't like Tabs on Top and wanted tabs below the address bar. What are the UI designers thinking of? Why are they trying to force users to accept the change to Tabs on Top?
Now I am going to have to talk inexpert users through opening about:config. Not that this is, in itself especially difficult. However, the potential for screwing up Firefox is much greater if you are rooting around in about:config then if you are using a simple toggle menu option from the GUI.
I'm sorry but these sorts of pointless changes drive me and other people nuts.

A quick way to toggle this is via this code in the Firefox/Tools > Web Developer > Error Console or with an extension or toolbar button that allows to run code at chrome level.
var Cc = Components.classes, Ci = Components.interfaces; var PB = Cc["@mozilla.org/preferences-service;1"].getService(Ci.nsIPrefService).getBranch(""); var PN = "browser.tabs.onTop", PV = PB.getBoolPref(PN); PB.setBoolPref(PN, !PV);
@cor-el I am sure you mean well but this is not "a quick way to toggle".
A menu option IS however "a quick way to toggle". I would appreciate this option being put back in the Firefox 15 UI.
Otherwise I might just as well use Chrom(ium) or Opera. What's the point of sticking with Firefox if it doesn't offer anything unique over other browsers.

It is very sad, and i repeat ask, Why are you trying to force users have only option to Tabs on Top? mozilla seem everyday more closed, like IE or Chrome interfaces, put again the option, or in 'Customize' or in Preferences-Tabs
The missing Tabs On Top option was the first thing I noticed when I upgraded a machine. This is one of the major reasons I have NOT upgraded my 3 computers at home. I do not want to lose that capability.
What is the key I need to look for in about:config to manual change the option if I do upgrade?
Nevermind...found it... browser.tabs.onTop
3624PPC, I completely agree with you!! Firefox changes every single minute and I cant see why, because it's performance is not getting better (and I still think that the UI is getting worse). What is the point in changing the browser every single week but not to enhance it? Every time a new version is released, I feel really afraid, wondering how much RAM it'll need this time . All I have to say to Mozilla is: Please, do not kill our Firefox!
It clearly states that it "breaks the warranty" if you change the tab position using this method, so even after going through this inconvenient process (AFTER having to look up HOW to do it), they are basically abandoning you as a customer. Absolutely ridiculous. They should be ashamed for acting like the dictators at Microsoft.

I changed to Firefox to get away from the tyrannical developers of other browsers who refused to listen to their customers' feedback. I'm so sick of developers acting like dictators. GIVE US THE OPTIONS WE WANT! How hard is that? You can still add the million different features that WE NEVER ASKED FOR, but give us what we want as well.
You can submit feedback submit feedback for whatever it's worth. I chose Firefox made me sad (option on feedback page). The number of characters is STRICTLY limited, so it was difficult to say what I wanted and I had to leave out spaces and ignore good grammar to get my message across, but here it is:
Tabs On Top option missing, ignoring customer desire.Using method to change VOIDS WTY,abandoning customer.Developers dictating to customers instead responding.I know your reasons for change, STILL WANT OPTION!Will soon abandon u if you do not change.
How change TAB BAR position:
- about:config
- find "browser.tabs.onTop"
- set to 'false' - with doubleclick

This problem persisted on Firefox 15 final release. Firefox 16 is out now. Has anyone tried it to see whether it's been fixed? I didn't want to install it until I was sure about that. Thanks.
I have FF16 and there does appear to be a right click menu option for Tabs On Top.
Thank you Darth_Vukster, for letting me know it's back! It's nice to know that I can install Firefox on a clean install of Windows and still have this option! Before, the only way you could keep it was to upgrade from a previous version (like version 11 or below and maybe version 12 and above it was missing on new install if memory serves me right). It's also nice to know that they are listening to their customers. I am pleased. :) Thank you Mozilla!
Just to clarify...my installs have always been upgrades. I didn't do a clean install. But the menu feature was there in previous versions, gone in 15, back in 16. I had used about:config to configure my Tabs to be NOT on top while in 15.
Oh man, I'm so disappointed. I forgot that I checked on a computer that has been upgraded, not a computer that had a new install. When I checked another computer with a fresh install, the option is NOT in the right click menu or anywhere in the options. I take back my thank you Mozilla. This is a major fail. Time to check out other options.
