yesterday my hard disk crash after setting up my computer when i try to synchronize Mozilla it didnot recover my bookmark nd my history......i am very worried...

following are my step which i do to recover my bookmarks

1 :Click Create a New Account 2: enter my email address ,password nd recovery key 3: in sync option i chose "replace all data on this device with sync data" i also tried "merge this device data with sync data"

but it did not solve my problem plz help as it contain last 2 year bookmarks.....:-(

Hmmm, did you have Sync set up before your crash? Then your bookmarks should be on the Sync server.

When you originally set up Sync, you got a code known as the Sync Key or Recovery Key. In order to access your earlier information from the Sync server, you need that code. Or if you had joined another computer or mobile device to your Sync account, then you might be able to generate a pairing code from that computer/device. Unfortunately, by design, there is no other way to regenerate your Sync/Recovery key.

i have that recovery code but ....mozilla is not recovery my bookmarks i don't why.....??

Aha, instead of using "Create a New Account" you want to use "I Have An Account." Check out this section of the help article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-a-device-to-firefox-sync#w_add-another-computer

What happened when you tried the steps to connect to your old Sync account? Where did it break down? Or did the connection set up and you didn't get any data?

Note: You might need to remove your newly created Sync account first...

  1. Click Firefox > Set Up Sync or Tools > Set up Sync
  2. Click I Have an Account
  3. Since you're not near the device with Sync already set up, click the I don't have the device with me link.
  4. Sign in to your Sync account:
    • Enter your account email address
    • Enter your password
    • Enter your Sync Key (Recovery Key)
    • Then click Next
  5. You will see a Setup Complete screen. Click Finish to complete adding this device to your Sync account.

i followed exactly same step which you write i also remove newly created account and try again but no gain......


problem is that Mozilla successfully complete the connection setup but i am not getting any data.....:-(

If you were able to create a new Sync account with a specific email address then this means that this email address hadn't been used before, so make sure to use the right email address to retrieve data stored on the Sync computer via "Replace all data on this device with my Sync data".

i am 100% sure i am doing every thing in a right way....... i am sure i am using right email address................

i think error is from the Mozilla server side .........


Now i am going to recover the bookmark files through recovery software...... thank you for your help
