Does Firefox work on Samsung Tablet GALAXY NotePRO (12.2) Wi-Fi P9000 Android 4.4?
I want to buy a larger tablet wich will run Firefox. Does the Samsung tablet GALAXY NotePRO (12.2) Wi-Fi P9000 Android 4.4 run Firefox. If the tablet in question runs Firefox, does Firefox run the app MediaHint from mediahint.com (which works perfectly on my Windows PC)? Thank so much for your help. Kind regards, Peter.

Hi PeterVrijland
1. Firefox 27 for Android (the current version is FF27, FF28 should be released in mid March) should run fine on the Galaxy NotePRO. If it doesn't, please let us know
2. I have no idea bout mediahint.com's webapp. I checked out their webpage and it looks like it works fine on Desktop Firefox, so the answer is maybe it will work on Firefox Android. try it and see and let us know!
Cheers!

In the end I came to buy the Samsung tabpro 12.2, android 4.4 tablet.
On this tablet, Firefox (v28) works fine. Unfortunantely the mediahint app does not work on Firefox v28!

That's a beautiful tablet!
Peter,
What happens when you try to run the Mediahint app on Firefox? Does it give you an incompatibility error?
Hi Moses,
My Samsung TabPro 12.2, android 4.4 with Firefox 28.0 is all run in the Dutch language.
When I try to install the Mediahint app (mediahint.com) I receive the errormessage (translated):
"Mediahint could not be installed, because the Mediahint app is NOT compatible with Firefox 28.0".
Moses, do you happen to have a solution to the above mentioned app problem?!
Thank you.
Kind regards, Peter
Peter,
Sorry for the late reply. I am traveling thus my display name AFK until 4-5-14 so my replies will be scarce. But I'm sure if I don't reply, another contributor will take over.
If Mediahint is saying that it isn't compatible with Firefox 28, then there is nothing you can do besides telling the developer to update their application. I'm running Firefox 28 on Windows and I'm assuming it's different for Android. I did a test on my Droid and I got the same error but when I install Mediahint for the Desktop version of Firefox 28, it loads up fine.
There are three ways to contact Mediahint listed on their site:
- Their Facebook page is listed as a support site
- Email them at contact@mediahint.com
- Leave a review on their AMO page
Like I stated before, us here at Mozilla Support cannot do anything about this as it is the developer's responsibility to update their app. I remember I used a tweaking of a pref in about:config a while back to force incompatible add-ons to work. But I don't see that working anymore as it was in Firefox 4.
